Isobelle Austin “Sun on my Skin”

Sometimes the timing of things feels significant. Today, 17.07.26, Isobelle releases her first piece. It holds personal weight, as it coincided with one of the most difficult periods of my life, when over the course of fifteen months I was my mum’s primary carer through terminal cancer.

I met Isobelle at the beginning of this journey, and I set up at the opposite end of the room to where my Mum sat. Beginning to sculpt this musical world with Isobelle, whilst spending my last days, weeks and months with Mum. I am very grateful that it was this music, and I’m incredibly grateful to Isobelle for the level of care and understanding she has shown through it all. Her music is achingly beautiful, her tone so good, and musicianship and ability are quite intimidating! In the best way!

This first piece is the sun kissed tip of a musical iceberg that has such depth and quality. Thank you Isobelle for welcoming me in, for asking all the questions, and for the care and focus you have brought to every part of this.
